A day in the life of…
Pickling walnuts. Imagine a slab of sourdough, some fruit chutney (maybe apple and almond or fig and onion) some delicious aged cheddar that bites one’s tongue and pickled walnuts on the top. A thing of joy!
Washing Dog’s beds and making them smell fragrant with sunshine. (Thank heaven!)
Admiring the aggies. The longest stems we have ever had.
Masses of beans to pick in the long row. At the very least – Salade Nicoise tomorrow night.
Sunflowers for the bees.
And berries. Almost finished. But by the supermarket’s prices, I have $A6 worth of blueberries and $A6 worth of boysenberries and silvanberries with a couple of raspberries and redcurrants thrown in. This summer, we’ve frozen a few kilos of mixed berries, made berry jam and cherry plum jam. (as my husband calls it – cherry glug because of its consistency).
Enough blueberries for breakfast with yoghurt tomorrow. Just need another little flush by Saturday when we have friends coming for a relaxed BBQ.
Walked Dog along the beach.
And now time to write.
That’s how this writer lives…
Sounds perfect Prue, just my sort of day. I can just visualise you pottering about in the garden
