Better than a diamond necklace…
The silver medal from the Readers’ Favorite’s Book Awards 2012 arrived in the mail yesterday! The REAL THING!!
It’s heavy, it’s on a grosgrain ribbon which spookily are my own nation’s national colours. I hung it round my neck and it sat more perfectly than a diamond necklace. I feel very honoured and have to say that this is the apogee of my writing life.
I just hope that everything doesn’t go downhill from here…
One disappointing note is that owing to unforeseen circumstances, the print version of the book won’t make it to the Miami Book Fair where it was to be displayed. I’m just relying on the excellent support of the Readers’ Favorite crew in Miami to do what they can, despite this.
If you wish to purchase a Kindle version, below are the links:
Major congrats, Prue. That’s seriously awesome!
Anne, thank you so much! If you want to spread the word, I am more than happy!
WooHoo! Congratulations, Prue! You deserve it! That silver medal is waaaay better than any diamond necklace! : – )
Thanks, LB. It is… that’s for sure!
This is fantastic! I’m so happy for you!
Thanks Lisa, and glad to hear that everything’s okay with your connections in NY too!
How marvellous, Prue! Huge congratulations!
So sorry about your book, though. Sickening. Hope the Fair is a great publicity boost in spite of that.
Thanks Gerry. I hope it is too…
Well done, Prue, from me, too. It’s lovely – in the order of an Olympic medal for writers!
And never sell youself short. Something tells me that, far from downhill, the only way is up and up, from now on.
Bless you, Giselle. That’s really really kind.
Since I answered the other commenters, Darlington Press Australia and Salt Studio have pulled out all stops and have created the most amazing flyers to be handed out in Miami and Darlington Press is also trying to expedite print copies of the novel to be sent from the Lightning Source Printers in Kentucky to the Fair in Miami. It’s quite an experience to have all this occurring around me without me having to worry for once.
Hooray!
Fab-u-lous!! Congratulations, my dear – that is brilliant!!! I hope you find somewhere at home for it to have pride of place. X
Thanks Clare. It hangs off my pen container on a beautiful bookshelf and is the first thing one sees when one walks into the room.
You’re a winner in the writer’s Olympics! Next year, GOLD!! And it will be richly deserved.
Sorry about Miami, though. Aren’t you glad you’ve got a publisher now to do the push work?
I would love to enter Shifu next year, but lets see how it goes in the marketplace first. And yes! So glad DP are doing the pushwork!
Wonderful!! Many congratulations fromm Cygnet:)
Thanks so much Ann, Lovely to have someone from ‘home’ on the blog!
Next time we have coffee I want you to wear it! Congratulations, you deserve every ounce of it. Xx
Okay. Promise I will! Do you think I will look gauche?
