Gisborne Press Release…
‘The storytelling talent is sharp, pulling the reader on the journey and bringing on the unpredictable as the story twists and turns with neither a bore nor a snore.’ John Hudspith
Available as an e-book first week of March – a debut historical fiction by Australian fantasy author
Prue Batten.
Guy of Gisborne: Robin Hood’s nemesis.
A re-written history.
No Robin, no Sheriff of Nottingham, no Marian.
Gisborne’s journey to status and power follows another road entirely, perhaps even more treacherous than the original.
Gisborne: Book of Pawns.
One quick comment, Prue. I wonder whether you should use the word ‘debut’? I realise you mean that it’s your first historical novel, but some people will read this as meaning it’s your first novel, and that therefore you are inexperienced. Just a thought!
Ann, the thing is, wouldn’t it be wrong to claim I was an experienced hist.fict writer? This is my first after all and so very different from writing fantasy. Perhaps only fair to warn readers…
Never apologize for your work. Never.
and a damn fine read it is!
Thank you Johnnycrowman! I’m glad you have enjoyed it.
Yay!
Yay! So looking forward to the release, Prue. Your first History Fiction, Congratulations!
I can’t wait to share some of my enthusiasm with the world 😉 Here we go! So thrilled, Prue. Fingers crossed!!! MG
waiting waiting waiting
*charging Kindle, cleaning, washing, cooking ahead of time so I’ll be ready..also clearing calendar 1st week of March* I WILL be ready!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Me too! Me too!
Hoooray! I feel like I watched this book grow up from a little ‘un on the blog so I’m quite attached 🙂
I am SO EXCITED! Yep, Kindle at the ready. I’ll pass the word on the forum, where you have several followers eagerly awaiting this also. Major accomplishment, Prue.
Hi Pru this is excellent news. But I don’t have a kindle I’m the old fashoined read a printed book kind of girl lol. Will you be having it published in book form sometime soon. Please say you will I have read it on here but I have told me friend how good it is (another RA-Guy fangirl) and I need to get her a copy as well as me. Congratulations on this and much sucess.
This is so exciting! When I first “met” you on Mark’s blog less than a year ago, I had an unpublished Robin-Hoody novel, Sherwood, Ltd, and you were still working on Gisborne. Now both books will be published!
I’m going to agree with Ann about the “debut” though. It stopped me as I was reading the blurb. It sounds like selling yourself short. How about something like “new historical fiction from fantasy author Prue Batten”?
Wonderful news, Prue. One of my favourite subjects, by one of my very favourite writers. I can’t wait!
The blurb is dramatic and intriguing, drawing you in immediately and flagging it as an exciting ‘must read’ .
Many congratulations.
This is so exciting!
I have the last assessment of my degree to hand in by Friday – and i can then reward myself by settling down with Gisborne! Perfect timing.
Your degree assessment and Gisborne shall be launched almost together!
I’ve just got it – and it isn’t even March!
Now all i have to do is resist looking at it until the dratted assessment is done…
Woohoo! I’m so glad this has been finished now, after the long journey it’s been on. Even though it must have seemed double as long to you as the writer!
Well done for acomplishing this, and I can’t wait to get it 🙂
