Nugget…the story of a wombat.
This arrived today!
I am over the moon… Nugget would love my current state.
I love the cover.
I love that it’s a slip cover.
I love the image of the wombat and those with whom he interacts.
I love the little paw print at the end of the story and underneath the publisher’s name on the last page.
And I especially love the ‘marsupial’ pocket in the back with Nugget’s very important map.
It was a pleasure to write the story for Bo Press – a very special and precious little book that children and adults can enjoy.
You are so lucky, Prue. No wonder you are over the moon. Pat does beautiful work, from what I remember from her Calamity’s Corner article. What a joy to write that little book and hold it in your hand. Congratulations.
Thanks wendy. It’s been the best thing making friends with Pat and having these collaborations. She always manages to encourage me to something I’d never have done otherwise and the way she prints and binds the final piece is the piece de resistance.
How very exciting Prue! It looks like a darling little book, one to treasure always by children! Congratulations!!
Thanks Carole. It’s a tiny book and I hope parents won’t consider it too small and delicate for little hands. For the collector of miniatures of course, it’s perfect!
I second that. Miniature books (mine, at least) aren’t a bit fragile. I encourage all kids to read miniature books – it will encourage the love of both books and miniatures!
Here, here!
How adorable! What a lot of creativity went into this project. Lovely.
More on Pat’s side than mine, I think, Anne.
