Midweek Maunder…
Apparently maunder is another word for meander, meaning a leisurely walk.
I recently maundered through a friend’s garden. It’s an exuberant garden, high-spirited and vivacious with colour.
If you know of Kaffe Fassett colours or…
Picasso colours, then you’ll know what I mean.
My own gardens are, by my choice, ivory, white, the colour of moonbeams and snow with black and shadow for contrast, so that when one finds a garden woven with slashes of vibrant colour, it’s a wonderful shock. Like diving into the first sea-water of summer. One comes up breathless! I love it…
See what I mean?
My grandad used to take us for walks … there was a wee walk and then there was the Daunder…. that was a really long ambling walk, you would need a picnic if you were going for a daunder in the countryside
Daunder and maunder – fabulous words that I’m adding to my lexicon! 🙂
oops I suspect its very much like your maunder 🙂
What wonderfully vibrant colours! Your maunder brightened my very wet and grey Thursday. Thank you for taking me along.
Judy
Aren’t they magnificent? I especially love the rich orange with the butcher blue! It was a privilege to be able to wander quietly and take it all in. I’m so glad it brightened you day, Judy. We have solid rain here, Friday, and I think I’ll go back and re-read the post, just to brighten my own day. 😉
