Re-branding takes more than one person…
As I attempt to re-brand myself, changing myself from http://mesmered.wordpress.com to https://pruebatten.com, I have been looking over everything required to create a brand.
Bookcovers, banners for blogs, websites, signatures for emails, posters, bookmarks, advertisements and so on. In all of this, I could never have had such finesse displayed without the talents and visual empathy of my graphic designer. She runs a studio called Salt Design (clare@saltstudio.com.au) and I could never ever have launched myself as a writer without her standing by my side, producing such beautiful artwork.
She is also my daughter.
Her new graphic template for your books is very very good, but I still think the cover for The Stumpwork Robe is awfully pretty.
Pretty it is, and I will always have copies on my shelf but she has plans to turn the two earliest into new covers to blend. One never knows, ultimately there might be a beautifully designed BOXED set. Depends what Darlington Press thinks, I guess.
What a talented family you are.
She is a truly gifted artist without even the graphics. One day, I shall do a post of her artwork…
Yes yes yes please!
She hides her light behind a bushel with her art. It will be hard to impossible convincing her to let me. I’d be on a hiding to nothing. But I may post on what I have of hers, which is superlative stuff.
An excellent post, Prue. I always enjoy reading what you write. Natural communicator, that’s you.
Very happy Christmas to you and all those you love.
