Puzzle?
Hands up if you can find a common denominator in these images.
I’m in love with the stripes.
Bequeathed to me by an elderly lady who loved Cornishware as much as I do.
Book illustration by my daughter from a re-design of The Hungry Caterpillar when she was at university.
and in the family room, balls to play with…
The kitchen filled with more coloured stuff…
And then in the wardrobe…
Handbag and scarf? In that shade?
And hankies…
Auriculas.
Aquilegias.
Time to have a cuppa…
Never let it be said that I am obsessed or boring in any way…
I love blue too. Always wanted Blue Willow dishes. I love your blog. Still have your story. Sorry it’s taken so long.
Don’t worry, lemon123, the story’s not going anywhere. It’ll still be there when you have time!
My husband picked up a blue and white willow pattern plate for my laundry wall at the local Tip Shop (Refuse Centre) for $2. Love the stories within a willow pattern plate… GREAT inspiration.
Never knew they were stories. Love the name of the shop.
Just a wild guess, Prue, but could the connection be the colour blue? And is it a case of ‘no prize for guessing’?
Lovely pics.
Gerry, how clever you are! Didn’t think anyone’d work it out. So sure in fact that it is indeed, ‘no prizes for guessing’. Hope you don’t mind.
Thanks for the compliment…I really do love blue. If there is a whole spectrum to choose from, I will always go for that colour. I don’t know why…it’s something that comes from my soul, but one thing I do know is that I feel good with blue.
I like your style, Prue. I’ve never said that, but I do and doubt I’m far from alone. I adore blue as well. It is my color especially “periwinkle blue” and marine blue. I never, never, never get tired of those colors.
By the way, I think you would love my mother’s kitchen. It’s this huge room with an 18 foot ceiling and a 12’x7′ skylight over an island that measures slightly bigger and the walls are painted a faint maize yellow with lots of Delft pieces on the walls and counters. I may have a picture of it somewhere.
A kindred spirit, Frenz, in so many ways… and your mother’s kitchen sounds perfect. I’m tickled that you think I have style too. I sometimes think people probably say ‘Oh God! Here comes that blue woman again!’
Haha, I’m the same! A massive proportion of my belongings are blue or turquoise – my mum even yawned when I showed her the teal/turquoise colour I’d dyed the corset I’m making. Apparently I’m so predictable!
Lovely, pretty pictures – blue is the best!
Huzzah for blue, Clare! Is the corset for another historical costume? Are you going to blog about it? Would love to read the progress.
