Last weekend, as the coast was battered by harsh southwesterly winds, we took the dogs far up the coast. Bending our minds to things other than packing cartons and sorting possessions.

The most perfect circles traced by a piece of seaweed in the wind.

Kelp – sandblasted.

Dried kelp – sculptured lace.

Coastal wildflowers.

The remains of the old saltworks.

And it worked. For a couple of hours we had the cobwebs blown away and were refreshed enough to approach the next few days of packing and moving.
