Romance Novel of Excellence!

My debut historical fiction novel, Gisborne: Book of Pawns (Darlington Press 2012), has been nominated for the RONE Book Award for excellence in pre medieval historical fiction.

RONE Award?

Rone stands for Romantic Novel of Excellence – a nice sounding title! And how wonderful it would be to be able to have the tag applied to one’s book!

In a pre-publication review of my book, InD’Tale magazine gave the novel a stellar five stars. Unbeknown to me, this meant that it was automatically nominated for a RONE Award which is divided into 3 stages:

1. Books reviewed by InD’Tale achieving the required star rating (4-5) go onto the second phase.

2. Books are subject to public voting within categories and must win to proceed.

3. Books will be subject to a panel of experts for review before a final book is chosen to receive the RONE Award in each category.

Where and how to Vote?

Public voting began on 26th April and is open for a mere sennight, (seven days and nights) readers! A mere short sennight!  So if you loved the book and can’t wait till Gisborne: Book of Knights is released you are encouraged to give Pawns, Ysabel and Guy, a little push up the ladder of excellence.

Voting is quite simple and involves registering with InD’Tale and once you’re logged in, beneath the voting category , Gisborne: Book of Pawns will appear and you can vote. Or if you prefer, you can download and email or mail a voting form.

I realise I’ve given you a number of links here, but the really important ones are the two immediately above this line.

Thank you to any who go the extra league when they find stories they enjoy… and in particular who go the extra league and a half for me.

Oh PS: Richard Armitage, the inspiration for The Gisborne Saga  is currently in Australia. How’s that for serendipidity and synchronicity? What do you think?
