And so this was Christmas…
Christmas Eve spent on a deserted beach.
Mince Pie and a cup of tea staring out towards New Zealand.
Climbing rocks with the dogs.
Pup running down the rocks. And then launching into swirling waves. He’s a mega-Jack Russell.
The dogs and I seeking our INNER CHILD. It was amazing to think I still have one.
Wading…also inner child.
NEXT DAY:
The dogs’ unwrapping their gifts.
Preparing the pudding with pre-decimal coins.
Preparing the veggies.
A timely message.
The three generations of my family at Christmas Dinner on the porch.
It’s been a massive few days…but it pales into insignificance.

Pumpkin, kumara and potatoes with red onion and garlic. Tossed in good olive oil, fresh ground black pepper and overlaid with fresh sprigs of rosemary, basil and thyme and roasted at 200-220 degrees until crispened. Lovely.
You can also mix it with fresh cooked beans and crumbled feta as a summer dish. Delicious.
We also had fresh podded peas, fresh baby carrots and fava beans that have been podded, par-cooked and the hearts popped out and then the hearts boiled for a minute.
Oh, and with roast stuffed turkey.
Oh, and I crumbed zucchini flowers with panko breadcrumbs and fried them and also made a Curtis Stone salad of rocket, avocado, fresh chives and roasted walnuts with a lemon juice, olive oil and grainy dijon mustard dressing. There was too much food! As is usual at Christmas!
